![]() The Swiss watchmaker uses four different types of finishes in for each ceramic component. Omega, however, has a solution for this problem. You have to wipe the surface off every now and then in order to clear the stockpile of fingerprints on the surface. Any ceramic watch user would know this by now. What’s New?Ĭeramic is a material that is known for its attraction to finger prints. The watch is a true beauty in aspects as it emphasizes of the use of the black colour that eventually enhances the style quotient of the already sophisticated Seamaster 300M. The case, the bezel, the crown, and even the HEV are made out of black ceramic. Every component that could have been made in black ceramic or zirconium oxide has been made in the said material. The name is strategic in the sense that it represents the use of an all-black colour theme. You might think that there is a typo of some sorts but no. Omega has to constantly step up its game and that is exactly what it has done with the launch of the new Seamaster 300M Black Black. But this title has to be retained and the process of retaining this title is not as simple as it seems. There is simply no denying that Omega is amongst the best of the best in the Swiss Haute Horlogerie. This watch will become available in July 2021. Mounted to the watch is an Omega black rubber strap with a molded pattern, while secured to the wrist by a black ceramic buckle. Power reserve on this timepiece can last up to 55 hours, when fully wound. It is a METAS Master Chronometer certified movement. The “Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black” ( Ref#: 210.92.44.20.01.003) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 8806 with 35 jewels and 25,200 vph. The equally darkened central hands with hollowed out sections and all the hour index markers have been given a new anthracite Super-Luminova glow, which provides an enhanced legibility while keeping it as dark as it possibly can. Thus this black dials background is adorned by a black-toned positive relief wave pattern, which runs through all of its surface. After that Omega doubles down just as the “Black Black” title foreshadows. Alongside the inner flange of the dial are portions of black printed railroad-type minute index markers, divided by single markers for every 5-minute increment. Time is exhibited on a black ceramic dial with black round dotted hour index markers, single rectangle markers for the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions and a double rectangle marker for the 12 o’clock spot. These componentes also assist in water-resistance on this watch being able to reach up to 300 meters (984 feet). All topped by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. Even the setting-crown embossed with the Omega logo and the helium escape valve at the 10 o’clock position have been crafted from black ceramic. A nice finishing option obtained via a laser ablation process that brings some depth to its overall look. One of this models more original elements comes m ounted to the case in the form of a unidirectional black ceramic bezel with a black ceramic insert that features a grained finish. It includes a 60-minute scale thats been raised in a positive relief and polished to enhance contrast. The screw-on portion of the case back includes the patented OMEGA “NAIAD LOCK”, which ensures all the technical information and other engraving always synch back into the exact upright position. The 43.5mm case is made of black ceramic with a transparent sapphire crystal exhibition case back, which allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement. The double “black” is not a typo, but actually an appropriate moniker for the monochromatic design that permeates this iconic models latest iteration. Previously we saw Omega release a blacked-out “Speedmaster” for the “Dark Side of the Moon” series, now we can opt for a “Seamaster” variation in an equally conspicuous “incognito mode”. As the world continues to endure these dark COVID-19 times, we are greeted with a new Omega release dubbed “Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black”. ![]()
